Its not considered a cage. Just a roll bar really. I put one in a 91 gt hatch before. Its not hard. The one i had was a hoop that mounted to the rear floor pan and 2 support bars to rear trunk. I welded it in.
It offers no structural advantage other than keeping the roof off your head in a rollover
If you're considering a 4 pt bar, you may as well increase it to a 6 or 8 pt bar and get the benefit of a tied chassis

I run an Autopower 4-point in mine but I added extra reinforcement for the floor pads
