has anyone else had this problem? i thought i was going to blow my engine on the way home tonight. i was in 4 th gear and pressed down the gas almost to the floor and the peddle got stuck. my rpm's went all the way to six grand then i finally got it unstuck. anyone have any suggestions?

sensor? stangs have manual throttle control, try moving the tb with your fingers, if it sticks there take the throttle cable off, then work the tb if it's sticks well then it's a throtlebody problem if it doesn't then it's a cable problem....

Thats why I said it depends, if you push the pedal down and it comes back, but the engine is still goin then its not the TB, but the sensor. On the other hand, if the pedal just won't come back down after pressing it then it could be a broken return spring, faulty bearings in the TB, butterfly out of whack, etc. There are actually 2 return springs (at least on 94-8), one on the TB itself and one that connects to the TB from a bracket on the upper intake.
