Hawk, Greenstuff, or OEM pads?

My front brakes are starting to go -- I can feel a grind under hard braking, and they don't stop as well as they used to. It's an 03 GT w/ about 25K miles and the original pads. 25K mi. is about average for me as far as front tires / brakes go, in most of the car's I've owned. Change 'em every year. Wife loves it...

Anyway, I'm headed to a 2-day autocross school at the end of august, so I'd like to get a set of pads that will work for that, but that are still daily driver pads. I don't care at all about dust levels or noise, just stopping distance, and somewhat lifespan. If I start changing them more than once a year, I'll be in trouble.

So, given all that, would you suggest Hawk HPS, EBC Green Stuff, OEM, or something else?

thanks,
dave.

OEM pads are better than failing brakes. I have the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads that I bought at Auto Zone. Lots of people have used Hawk pads and the top-rated Z-Rated pads from the aforementioned Performance Friction. If you buy the EBC pads, make you get the right grade. Some of their pads are made for lighter cars, unlike ours. Also, try doing a search here; you will probably find a ton of reviews.

i have the Hawk HPS & am very happy with them. no noticable difference in noise; definite difference in dust & stopping distance. the car's been on the road track a few times and the lifespan of the brakes is shorter accordingly.

i'll probably switch to the HPS+ because i picked up a 2nd vehicle last month & the Mustang's only been driven twice since.

I have the ebc greenstuff pads. My stopping power is considerably better then the stock Bullitt pads (Cobra brakes), and brake dust is less but the green pads look like christmas matched up with the red Bullitt brakes. I had to remove my pads and paint them black. They do squeal like the stock pads when appling the brakes.

Subscribing.

I'm going to Summit Point for a track day in a few weeks, and I have this feeling I'm really going to like it and will want to come back soon. :D So better pads will be my first priority...

I'm leaning toward toward the Hawk HPS...Funny that they're only a little bit more expensive than replacement Ford pads.
