When removing the smog pump and hoses to the back of the heads.Would a leak at the plug used to block off the head cause a code 41 02 sensor issue?

Those holes should be blocked off. Itll act like an exhaust leak. You need thermactor plugs.

This is a continuing message on this forum. Fix the problems you know you have first. The back of the heads not being plugged is a known problem. Fix that first, and go from there.
