well i have researched for heads and have decided on a set of AFR 185cc for my 95 GT , but know have found my self pondering new questions.......will there be enough piston to valve clearence..... will the stock pistons work with the valves ....... what will the new compression ratio be with 58cc chamber ...... should i choose a different chamber maybe 60cc or 64cc ...... is the lift to high for the cam i want to use ( 274* duration .555 and .565 lift w/ 112 lope ) every time i think i have got some thing going i find my self stuck again damn never thought it would be so hrd to get this project going..... all the above parts are to be installed on a stock block if you have any insight please fill me in...... i am in iraq so i havent been able to call the companies for help and all my research has been done online.please help thanks Erick

First off, welcome to the site.

Secondly, no the AFR 185's will not work with the stock pistons and the cam you have chosen. However, they do work with the stock cam, but that can get scary. It only leaves about 35 thousandths of clearance. Depending on head gasket thickness, with a 58cc chamber, you are looking at a compression ratio of about 9.5:1. Not a real big difference. Look into a set of AFR 165's. You can run a fairly large cam with that head and still have plenty of room to grow. Remember that AFR springs are only good upto a .550 lift, so anything above that would require the spring upgrade.
