I'm planning on doing a headswap on my 97 GT. I was thinking 2001 heads. What else should I do? Is it worth getting a bullitt intake or just going with a 2001 intake? What cams? What kind of power increases could I be looking at? Anyone have a parts and price list to start and finish this job?I know this is a broad question but any help would be appreciated

Yes it is worth it. Run a search on the headswap......That will give you a parts list. Be sure and get a good service manual and use it...........You should see a 50 HP increase. Think about porting/polishing the heads before you install them.....

check these graphs hell yeah it is worth it. Red is before blue is after.

The red is after the tune. now I sit at 241.5hp and 282.9tq at the wheels.

you will need the following

Head, intake, and exhaust manifold gaskets
head bolts just get the arp studs they are reuseable
front cover gasket
If you use windsor heads you will need valve covers and gaskets, dipstick tube and bigger front cover bolts.
you can get the headgasket kit from ford for about 100 bucks it comes with gaskets and head bolts.
The price on heads varies so much I have no idea.
VT has some good cams for about 600 bucks. The bullit intake is basically your choice it is good for small gains but is pricey.

My baseline dyno is 100% stock down to the filter. I put PI heads intake and cams in and left everything else alone and gained 40hp to the wheels. Get a good tune also I went from 229hp and 277tq to 241.5hp and 282.5tq. It really doesnt sound like much but it broadened the curves out so much that at 6000rpm I have about 19hp and 20tq more.
