Can I hook my heater hoses to the ac core that is also coming out of the firewall since my heatercore is bad? I changed it once and really don't want to do it again right now. My ac has been removed for awhile and it looks like it would work.

WOn't really work right.
The a/c core is always present in the airstream as to dry the air passing through it. The heater core has a blend door to allow some heat to pass.
If you could get the heater hoses to attach to the a/c core without popping off somehow, you'd basically have full heat or nothing when you turn it on
