heater core madness

it was a tough day. dash came down easy but when i got to the heater box to slide it down i accidentally bent the studs on the outside and it took me and hour pushing and pulling to no avail. i went and got help from my friend. got the heater box back straightened and got everthing back together. two years ago i replaced the heater core but i paid someone else to do it. when i pulled out the old one it still looked new. no defect or anything. i havent started up the car to check the new core but if it still doesnt blow hot air what else do i need to be looking for? coolant sensor on metal heater hose by intake? i hope it works when i start it tomorrow.

Was the old heater core leaking? I hope you didn't do all that work for nothing; and the coolant sensor has nothing to do with the heat. Check for problems with the blend door and/or the HVAC vacuum lines under the dash if the heat doesn't work still. I know it sounds dumb, but be sure to burp the cooling system good also.

i checked that cable before i put everything back together. when i twist the temp knob i can see the cable pulling on the heater box part and when i twist it to cold it sounds like a door shutting. its raining outside now so i cant try it out. and all of the lines look ok. all were pushed in properly. if my heat doesnt work this time i guess ill have to use some liquid defroster for my windows then.

to think of it i have to see if i have a restrictor in my heater hose. that might have killed the last one.

I am a little confuse here. From reading your original post it sounds like you changed the heater core thinking it was going to fix your "no-heat" problem. If that is the case you did all that work for nothing. Heater cores leak in the floor-board, mist on the windshield, and leak out of the ac drain on the firewall but they will still give you heat.

Your description was vague but here are a few things to look at:
Is the blower motor working? Can you switch between defrost, panel, and floor? Is the thermostat working? Is the heater core bypassed? Is the blend door working correctly? Is the blower fuse popped? Are all the vacuum lines attached and good?
