Hey, I want introduce myself and ask a few questions. First let me say that I've been a stanger for 20 plus years. My first was a 70 fastback I drove in highschool, yes I'm an idiot for selling it, I know. I've had several 66 coupes and even more fox cars. I've been without a stang for about three years and out of the blue I inheirate an 84 GT I built and sold to a friend. The little hatch that I spent hours sweating over is now again trash, and I'm starting over at square one. Last build was back as an 84 GT, but this time I'm feeling the 93 lx look and I'm not sure about parts, mostly interior. I'd like to update the entire dash (the whole dash ) from a newer 90-93 car. has anyone done this? will it simply unbolt and change out? I know wiring, instruments are different, but aside from that?? Also I need new plastic panels in the rear, the large quarter trim. does anybody reproduce these? I can't find them anywhere? If not, any leads on salvage yards would help. I've been out of the loop a while!

Thanks guys!

Welcome. I'm 99% sure the dash swaps in but you would have to change the A pillar trim also since the old trim will not match up to contours of the new dash. I'm sure you will get some more answers. The rear panels are not reproduced so searching classifieds on here and over at corral.net are a good bet but you could also check these places out for used mustang parts...

I hope you have your bulletproof suit on...

A lot of guys here feel that putting an aero front end on a 4 eye car is a sin worthy of the most painful torture imaginable...

The argument against converting to aero is lame. It's thier car, they can do whatever they want to it.

Thanks for the info! and the death threats!! LOL... that's ok. I've just been looking for an aero car and can't find one reasonably priced, then I get this one free. I kind of don't mind changing it, because this car has seen it's better days and anything would be an improvement. Not to mention It's already been built as a four eye by ME once and I'm just tired of the look. It already has the quarter windows and spoiler off of an lx. ( thank you very much), I'm just changing bumpers, lights and hood before paint. It's now orange with black GT stripe and lettering, and it's going to be the blue that the 93 lx's were available in. Hardest part will be replacing ragged 84 interior with newer stuff and getting enough parts to make the color change look decent...

Priorities are such a pain in the butt! Did I mention I've got a line on a windsor block and plan on building a 408 or maybe a 427 for it???hehe!

btw, thanks guys an gals for the pointers, I've already found so much useful info! talk about kid in a candy store!
