A lot of people on here seem to be haters but Im going to say its going to depend on your budget to fix the car and your mechanical abilities. I personally would tackle that in a heart beat. While people are right, coupes are not worth as much as a fastback, who cares what they think. A car is worth what you think it is until you go to sell it. If you like coupes, I think its a good project. All the stuff you need to fix the holes in the trunk and the 1/4 are available and are not expensive to buy. The question is, are you going to fix it or pay someone to. If you have tools (welder, grinder, sanders, some type of cutoff wheel, etc) you can easily tackle this car. Dont let people scare you off from the car because they do not want to fix it. I have seen people replace just about a whole car other than the roof but they were proud of themselves and wanted to tackle that hard of a project.
All the body gaps from what I can see look pretty good. Having a straight car really helps. Aftermarket repop panels suck and dont usually fit well.
I think the car is a very solid builder but it will take a lot of time and effort. It can be beautiful with some TLC
+1!!!!!
I have yet to see but a few people make money on a classic car... You cant look at a classic car as a profit/loss project..its a toy and you will spend far more than you will probably get back out of it. Costly changes into what you wanted to do with the car and what not just changes it all. I have well over $10k into my old coupe I bought when I was 16 and have really nothing to show for it... I lost a bunch of money but I dont care because I still have my car and its worth what I want it to beI’m no hater I’m a realist. I hate to see good people get in over there head and end up losing money and there love of the classics. Can this car be fixed yes is now the time to fix it probably not, should it be crushed NO. I do not like the idea of parts car as I have seen cars that where once parts cars brought back to life. But the reality is that the 69-70 cars are not as supported as the earlier cars making the project more expensive and time consuming. Will this change in the future I sure hope so and believe it will as I have seen the support for the 67-68 increase by leaps since I started. This is just my .02 cents YMMV and as always it is your money and time do with it as you may.

jester, the prob i have with that is that i live on the east coast of canada, alot of salt in the air here, and alot used in the winters over the years.
this very well may be the last (not totaled) mustang that i may run across for the next 5 years or more, and by then there will be less available and prolly more expensive for one is worse condition...
ahh, hard decision for me, only got 2 days to make up my mind.
major prob for me is, i really like it, but at the moment, im moving and cash is a lil thin, but whats the point of having a nice garage with no car to work on...
