I didn't pull the codes yet...maybe tomorrow if I don't get drunk again. But, it hasn't cut out since I put the stock wire back on. It's been two days now, and nothing.
It seems as though the coil was jumping around. It wasn't mounted well to the blower bracket. I secured it for now until I can find something more permanent.
I had the same thing happen to me when I bought my stang 2 years ago. I ended up replacing the stator assembly. I have not had any issues with it dying since.
