Help! Car wont start!

After charging the battery the car won't start. The ingnition clicks and then nothing. No cranking or turning over. All power is off. Then on a second attempt the alarm starts to go off and will oly shut off with the key in the ignition. What the freak happened?

Sounds like a dead battery to me, or you've got corroded battery terminals. I'd have the battery tested.

Did anything lead up to this? There's an off-chance that the starter crapped itself.
