I have the 2007 Shelby gt500 with less than 20000 on it and 1st and 2nd gears are fine but when i go into 3-6 and push a little harder the RPMs rise:mad: . I was told by my ford dealer that the clutch warrenty is 12/12,000 miles. I very seldom drive the car hard. has anyone else had this problem with the clutch starting to go bad at early stage. They also told me it would be 700-800 range to replace it. he told me that everything else has warrenty except the clutch. something doesnt sound right!:(

PLEASE help me!!!!!!

They are right, I'm actually surprised about the 12/12,000 being a clutch is high wear item. You don't have to drive it frequently or hard to wear it out, it will wear if you slip it off the line or when changing gears. $700 $800 parts with labor at a dealer is reasonable. Should you invest in a performance clutch??? I don't think it will help, they are designed to bite harder not last longer I think you should reevaluate your driving style no offense but I believe that is where the problem is.

Sorry to hear about this. When I used to work at a ford dealership, there were guys with Ford GT's that burned their clutch in less that 150 miles. The price also sounds ok. the 2010 has a better clutch I beleive; I wonder if it will fit in yours.
