Engine Help hard/no start runs rough.

@GK It has the racecar setup. Master kill on the rear panel, Trunk mounted battery, 1 ott welding cable running to the engine bay, lighted Ignition switch, starter button, CEL. where the radio was.

I drove it to work this am, ran fine once started. Got here shut off, immediately try to restart, no luck. Wait 30 sec, still no. Wait an hour, temp gauge at 100* fired up fine several times. Let run 5 min won't start. Shot of either fires right up.

I'm setting up my DVOM so I can monitor voltage at different components one at a time. I figured I'd start at the coil +, then injector(s). Fuel pump I can hear prime and stop after couple seconds and I do have 38# when ignition is turned on, pressure does not bleed off after shutting off.

I think I found an issue. Checking voltage on coil + switch on engine off 10.5-11.0. Start cranking volts drop to 5-6. If I see 7 or more volts at the coil while cranking it will fire. Below 7 nada.
Running voltage at coil + 12
Battery voltage measured at solenoid is 12.6 engine off 13.7 running

Thoughts?

Bad solenoid. I am getting 5-9 volts on the "I" terminal at the starter solenoid while cranking.

You are on to it
Try temporarily hot wiring straight to 12 volts as a test
