HELP!! I can't get my Tweecer rt connected

My tweecer rt doesn't fit down on my computer chip far enough. It is barely even on it an eigth of an inch. I have 95 gt with a cobra computer chip. I dont understand what is going on? I bought it used from a guy who had it on his 89 stang. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

the tweecer part does not fit on the chip?

the tweecer part that goes onto the computer goes on the J3 port.

A chip is its own deal that (prob.) goes on the J3 port.

AFAIK- you cannot run the chip AND the tweecer part that goes too the eec.

Take off the chip and set it aside.

put the tweecer part that goes onto the eec on at the J3 port. Most people either put a piece of cardboard or plastic between the top (L part that hangs over the eec) of the tweecer part and eec to keep it level and ducktape the sucker too the eec.

sorry.. When I say chip i meant where it actually plugs in to the eec. My tweecer doesn't go into the box around the eec enough to actually connect to it.

That is VERY odd. I dont ever remember hearing about something like this?

It doesnt need much though, I would try making sure its held on really well (like the stuff mentioned above) and see if it works/talks to the eec and all that.

That doesn't sound right. Did you sand down the J3 connector port?

Maybe you have some old glue that is preventing the sleeve of the TwEECer from sliding over the fingers.

Can you take pics? I think that would help tremendously.

I will take pics and post them tonight sometime. I think the eec might be remanufatured, would that have anything to do with it?

I dont remember exactly how it was...but you did take off the plastic guard thing that went aroundt he whole eec right? I dont remember it too clearly if it was something that may be in the way or not though.

Maybe the re-man has the board set too far in though

mine slid on without any issue. i had to use electrip tape to keep it seated. can you see anything on the j3 port that might be interfering with it going all the way on?

It looks like either the eec is set in the box to far, or the box is to big or something. But it definitely wont go on there with the box still covering the eec.

isnt there two ports on the eec a smaller one on the back(covered by a piece of metal with the computer tag on it) where the tweecer goes and one on the side

I have heard some say they had issues with pcm's
that had the same components but the housing was
not oem.

Not saying yours is like that as I've never seen one of them.

It's been forever since I've seen mine but I did not have any
trouble with the installation.

If you go to the Tweecer sites you can most likely find help
in the hardware section.

I'd work in the .org site first as the yahoo site has a search
engine that just blows poo poo. Its so much info to sift through.

however

With the Yahoo site ... you can go ALL the way back to where
we all were just getting started and you will see where some
had the issues I talked about.
