I would be stoked. A 3550 is like a $1300 transmission new. That transmission is infinately stronger than a T-5.

I wouldn't be, if you're plannin' on puttin down any kind of REAL power, 3550's are garbage
Not to mention, you can bolster the f**k out of even a BW T5 with the right parts. (billet thrust plate, steel bearing retainer, hardened input shaft, steel forks, etc.)

I think they are a lot better then t5s hands down. Friend of mine power shifted his (if that is a 3550) stock one for a long time which is something I wouldn't dream of trying with a t5.

It is physically impossible to power shift an unmodified T-5 or 3550. You have to let off the throttle or push in the clutch, one or the other. If you are able to shift the transmission with the throttle to the floor without pushing in the clutch the lock rings are seriously damaged. The 3550 is quite a bit better than the stock T-5. I wouldn't want to try to run an 11 second quarter mile in my heavy arse sled with a T-5.
