HELP Identifying this AC dryer hose end ***PICS***

Ok folks just finish tearing out the dash and replaced my AC evaporator. I went to install the new AC drier( small black can in the engine bay, pass side right next to the evap core inlet/outlet) with the hose i bought from Autozone. I opted to buy the one already with the hose. Check out the ends on these two hoses and tell me where I went wrong? My car is a 92 mustang GT, with stock AC( I believe)
the black hose is the original hose I took off...

I don't think the you will have a problem with the new one. Does it lock together like it should?

pretty sure u need a factory hose end..i dont think the new one will work

replied on corral. this is the end that connects to the compressor, the black hose fits into the fitting on the compressor perfectly because the compressor has a matching slot to guide this one in. The "slot" gets in the way with the new hose as u can see the ends are diferent

I think what he is saying is the replacement silver hose does not have the slot.


I hqve a new ford hose that I can check, but might not be for a few days

pretty sure it only goes in one way on the compressor so i need that slot..it locks it into place
