help me identify t5

I am trying to identify t5 which was manufactured in 1987. Just wondering if it is I4 or V8 model and NWC or WC. Pilot diameter shaft is .59", which says it is not from V8 car. Also the length is roughtly 7.5" which also indicates I4. I read somewhere that if it is from I4 car therefore it cannot be WC.

However, what I found on http://www.5speeds.com/t5/:
- When I took it apart, I did not see any brass synchros hence it should be WC.
- Also it has separate tap and cone bearings on the input shaft that only WC and V8 have.
- it has WC like countergear bearing (Timken LM 670.0) as shown on that web site
- It was using red ATF, not gear oil.

The guy I got it from said it is from 89 lx 5.0. So what do I have?

Is there a metal tag pinned to the side of the trans? If it's stil there, post the first 5 digits. Or compare to the T5 ID chart.

So are there any WC for 4 cylinder mustangs? Or the guy swapped the 4 cyl input shaft into v8 WC box?

According to your research, it would appear that someone put an I4 input shaft into a V8 trans. I can't even imagine why anyone would do this, except that their I4 trans failed, and had this trans available, and pulled the input shaft from the failed trans to get their car fixed without buying another trans...at any rate, you can give Bob Hanlon a call Hanlon Motorsports - T5 and Tremec parts, sales and service and check with him.
