Hello everybody I am new to this forum just wanted some good advice on my new project. I have a 94 gt and am planning on building a 347 stroker for it here is what I have decided on so far please give advice and recommendations.

CHP Pro Street all forged stroker kit
AFR 185 non-smog heads

So far the only upgrades to the car is 3.73 gears and flowmasters.
I plan to get an x pipe and headers any recommendations would be great.

I noticed a spyder intake on CHP's website I forgot to ask their tech which intake he would recommend what is your opinion on this intake. From what I have gathered this may not be the best choice.

I need recommendations on, fuel system and ignition uprades, throttle body, cam choice, rocker arms, etc, etc.

I am not the most mechanically inclined individual, however my father used to build engine for circle track racing and drag racing years ago so he feels comfortable tackling the build we just need to know the right parts combination to use. The technician I spoke with at CHP said that the pro street kit with afr heads should be able to put me in the 450 hp range with the correct intake and cam. One more ?, Should I have the AFR heads ported/polished before assembly?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do NOT port and polish the heads, they're plenty
are you going with a 331, 347, or what for the stroker?
stock block or no?
and the main thing with be a TUNER!!!!
We're talking more than a chip here, although, that'll work, IF you don't change anything. I suggest something like the AEM EMS or the tweecer. Those are DEFINATLY the best bet.

welcome!

450 is about the max hp for a stock block.

sounds like a sweet combo you are putting together. i would go with:

255 lph walbro
42# injectors
cam: call ed curtis
the spyder is a sweet looking intake, but the low end torque will suffer with it in a n/a app. it is great for boosted applications
75mm throttle body
90mm ligthning maf

thanks

Thanks for all the info, after further consideration I believe I will be going with one of the CHP Dynotec longblocks. Their website rates their 347 long block at 550 hp. This way I will start with a fresh engine already assembled and balanced. It comes with edelbrock heads I believe vic. jr heads? should I go with those or try to substitute the AFR 185s? Thanks for the recommendation on the fuel system etc. Anything else you would upgrade while the engine is out. Elec water pump? Pulley kit? Keep the recommendations coming thanks guys. If I get the dynotec long block should I go with one of their main girdles?

Almost decided

Just got off the phone with one of the techs at CHP and spoke to him about the dynotec longblock 347. The longblock is $5799 it is an all forged bottom end with AFR 185 heads with all the porting, machining, balancing and assembly done. He recommended a holley systemax 2 intake since it will be fuel injected. What do you guys think. sound like an okay deal/combo? I think if I get it I will go with a main girdle since this is essentially a stock block, and the tech said that 475hp from this combo is to be expected.
