Long story short....

broke off a head bolt in the water jacket when tearing the 302 down for the H/C/I swap, had a catastrophy with the Easy-out and hole got drilled crooked. The remainder of bolt was removed and now I have 3/4 of the bolt hole's threads. The head bolt will screw in but I am worried about torqing it down with the missing material.

Any ideas on how to compensate for the missing threads? ...I don't think JB Weld will cut it for filling this in.

I really can't replace this motor because I don't have the $$$ but I do have patience

couldn't you put a heli-coil in there? I did it to my lower intake. I don't know if a heli-coil would be strong enough for 50-60 lb/tq. Basically what you would do with a heli-coil is drill it out to the next size up and then tap to re-tread it. Once thats done you can screw in a heli-coil that will reduce the hole size to your original size. makes sense? good luck. try napa they have helicoil kits just take a head bolt with you and tell them u need a kit for that bolt.
