help please

hey all. i have a 99 gt, the 35 fifth anniversary edition. it has the cd player below the radio. the cd player is crap and wont play cds, so im trying to switch it out with an aftermarket one. it has the mach 460 system in it. so i know i have to by-pass that and get a dash kit for it. do any of you know how i would go about doing this? thanks

You have to get a wiring kit,I think they have them for the Mach systems,that way it plugs into the factory harness,get a dash kit for the new stereo and whatever else you want.

ok thanks. so all i need to do is get the wiring kit and replace everything. is there a certain way to go around the 460 system? i dont want to mess it up. and i wanna make sure the woofers still work and everything.

If you bypass the Mach system,non of the speakers will work because they wont have a signal to them.The new stereo will run through the mach's amplifiers,or you can run new wire from the stereo to each speaker,but thats a lot of work.

so my best bet is to take it somewhere and let someone do it for me? b/c im not sure ill be able to do what your saying. i thought i understood but i dont wanna mess it up. so should i let someplace install it for me?

If youve never dealt with runnibg wire and hooking up things like this,I would take it somewhere ,that way they will warranty the work.
