my cars never going to pass smog so i figured just take everything out to clean it up a bit. does anyone know where theres a web site or tech forum with the information needed to remove all smog emmision parts off my car. thanks in advance

I think the 86 has the same style smog as the 87+, but it's been years since I had an 86.

You'll want to remove the smog pump and take careful notice of any vacuum lines. There is one going to the charcoal canister, one coming from the plenum, you have a metal line going to the exhaust that needs to be welded shut, there may be ( I think there is on the 86) a place you HAVE TO plug up on the back side of each head. You can use thermactor plugs. There is a plug with room for 5 vacuum lines on it coming off the passenger side that can be plugged up (at least my friends and I do).

Or you can do what we all did for years, and buy a short belt and bypass the pump

If you aren't taking the heads off there is no reason to go to all of that trouble.
