I have a 68 coupe and am planning on buying a set of 15 x 7 wheels from summit.
I'm getting new standard eye leafs for the rear. The front wheels will be 215s. What's the largest i could go with the rear wheels without rubbing or any adverse effects. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think you can run 225 60 15 in the front on 67-68. As for the rear you can probably go up to a 245 I would think. Maybe some one else will chime in with more information.

On my 65, I am going to run 215 60 15 front and 235 60 15 rear.

I was thinking 245 was about as big as i could go. I kinda had my heart set on firestone firehawks but they only come in 235 or 255. I was hoping i could squeeze the 255 back there. Also since I have manual steering will moving from 215 to 225 make it significantly harder to steer? Thanks for all your help.

You can fit much larger tires on the front and the back. Your wheel choice is what is limiting your options. 215 vs 225 steering effort....if you are going from a 185....you wouldn't notice a difference between the two...both would take more effort.
