Okay, so, I have a big gas comsumption problem, and I was wondering, what could be the cause of that?

The father of my gf say that it is the size of my tire that didn't fit with the car
or my injectors that are finished.

The size of my tires is 205/75/R14 ( winter tires) & 205/70/R15 ( summer ones)

And I say that it is my egr sensor..

What do you'll think?

What type of mileage are you getting?

Is your car a stick or auto?

Are you getting any codes from the EEC?

Now on your tire sizes is that a type-o on the 14" and the 15" wheels are do you have to different size wheels, a set of 14" wheels and a set of 15" wheels?

Also have you done the easy stuff like a full tune-up, clean air filter, and the tires have the right amount of air in them all the time?

I get about 230 to a tank.. sounds bad to me.. My car is auto and N/A. I got a code saying EGR not opening/Malfunctioning. would this cause it?

I believe a EGR malfunctioning would cause some bad gas mileage. I would pop it off and clean the heck out of it. As for the 230 a tank of gas, that is close to what my 93' 2.3L LX w/A4LD (auto), it gets around 250 a tank on avg. I'm not really sure if this is a avg for all of them but I have never got a code on my car so I guess I'm running right.

When you get 230 miles and fill up how many gallons does it take to fill the car up? I'm wondering something else, could the gauge not be right on the dot? Now my car's fuel gauge is real close to my 230 mile a tank prediction because when I get to 250 miles and fill up I put like 12-14 gallons in. I think the tank holds 15 - 15.5 gal of fuel.

I believe the tank size is 14.6 gallons, but i'm probably wrong.

I get about 330 to a tank, so yeah, you definitely are having gas problems. First things first: do a tune-up. All new spark plugs, wires, oil change, air filter, etc. Then, change you oxygen sensor if it doesn't get better. Also, like Pro-Hawk said, clean your EGR. Change the PCV valve and maybe even the thermostat.

Crap and I thought I was doing good at 250 a tank :( I guess we both need help and I my self have done changed the plugs and wires. I think I will do the PVC and O2 on my car since they haven't been done in almost 4 years that I know of :(

Ok, my car have a auto tranny, my winter tires are on a set of 14" rims and the summer ones are on a set of 15", I'm doing approx. 215KM with 24.9L of gas.. ( notice that it isn't miles, but kilometers). I have 31psi in each tire, I don't really know how to take codes so.. I don't know for codes :nonono:
