High idle need help

The girfriend says the cobra is idling high but i havent seen it yet. Im guessing a vacuum leak, what are other possibilites? The car is a bone stock 94 cobra. Whats the best way to find a vacuum leak if thats whats wrong, if i spray carb cleaner and if it revs higher while i spray then thats where the leak is at?
Just trying to have a good idea of what to do before i start checking it out.

Try this out...Kinda sounds like the symptoms my friend's GT had a while back,his idle would hang sometimes and then it turned into an all the time thing and this did the trick...plus it's free!

some also use propane to find leaks (i have not done it - be careful with whatever method you use).

yep, idle changing when spraying indicates you have found a leak.
the puter has the idle hang and fall slowly (like a vac leak) while rolling. if it hangs while standing still, that is not normal. some cars are worse than others with the hanging idle upon slowing (using input from the speed sensor). one of my other cars is bad with it hanging while slowing.

you could also pull codes for fun, to see if anything is stuck in KAM.

Im gonna drive it tomorow to see exactly whats it doing and go from there. Not sure if it throwin codes i guess ill get it checked too. Thanks for the advice guys, never heard of the 10 pen trick before either.

the puter can store codes which are tossed, although the code(s) never light the CEL - so checking them even though you have not seen the light on (or your G/F has not seen it on) is a good idea for the fun of it.
