Hit 6's in the 1/8 mile ....

...and blew a head gasket

She felt really good through first and hit into second and halfway through second I start to get sprinkles on the windshield coming from under the hood and decided to stay in it shifted to third and made it through the traps at 6.96 @99.70 and then hit my windshield wipers on.

I'm a little disappointed that I drove it up and wasn't able to drive it home from the track but either way I broke the 6 second barrier and I'm thrilled

Can't wait to figure out whats wrong and get it back together and do it again... the 6 second 1/8 mile- not the blown head gasket

Thanks guys, It was just a matter of time- I knew something was going to let go once I started running 100+ in the 1/8. I'm just really glad the stock 5.0 block didn't split and take out my 347 crank, rods and the rest of the internals



9psi, 18 degrees lockout timing, and 91 octane with SCE 060 head gaskets.

Congrats on hitting the 6's! That's really where you need to be to run 10's in the 1/4. That sucks about the gasket but at least it's JUST a gasket. Keep up the good work.

I found myself doing excessive burnouts too. It is very easy to get serious wheel speed with all that torque.
