Hey, so im stuck between which supercharger i want. Either the Vortech V-1 SC-trim (5-6 psi) or the Paxton Novi 1000 (5-6 psi)...which one would go better with this set-up in your opinion? and maybe how much power would it make?

88 5.0 GT (with 92 engine...60,000 miles)
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Edelbrock Performer heads
Edelbrock 70mm TB
1.6 FRPP Roller Rockers
new pushrods
new lifters
MAC CAI
o/r H-pipe
dual flowmasters
3.73's

The NOVI 1000 is a much better kit. Comes with a 8 rib pulley, aluminum discharge tube, and sturdier 1/2 inch brackets. It will save you alot of $$ down the road. They both sound cool and both blowers are equal to each other as far as performance and durability.

I'm holding out for a KB Blowzilla. Yes, it costs more ($2,800) but it's way worth it! I almost got the Novi 1000 this spring, but it can't compare to the Blowzilla.... so I'll wait till next year. Here is a link to check out all the Tech aspects of it: http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/ford/blowzilla-flowzilla/blowzilla-flowzilla-tech.htm
:hail2: the blowzilla is one mean machine :hail2:
Go with the vortech though, i've heard good quality feedback about them, the paxtons i've heard average reviews about them.

I have a V-1 A-trim. I got a really good deal on it. I love the power it gives me, it's like night and day from N/A to blown.....It sounds pretty nice at idle, it's really loud. Once it gets moving you don't really hear it anymore though....

But ever since I got boost, I've had nothing but more problems. Nature of the beast I guess...... I'm still trying to get things worked out however....

I have a V-1 S-trim and all I can say is WOW... I had a Powerdyne making 9-10#'s of boost and swapped to the V-1,, and what a difference. Don't get me wrong the Powerdye was nice, but where it leveled off at 9-10#'s the S-trim is still pulling. SO far I have seen a best of 13-14#'s witht eh s-trim..As for the sound well it takes some getting use to, I like the stealth mode personally and that why I went with the PD at first. But I can live with the sound for the power it makes.. :)

I would go with the Vortech. Nothing sounds sweeter than a V1. I'm going with the sc-trim hopefully somtime in the near future.

BTW, maybe u should look into a cam first. Much cheaper and it will help your combo quite a bit.

Apparently youve never heard a D series Procharger?

I am installing a Novi 1000 right now on a guys car, and the kit looks really good and besides from a couple bolts being about a 1/4" to short, its going on really well. If all you are ever going to go with more than 5-6 psi I would look into a bigger charger. It will be less efficent than if you were to buy a little charger but in the future you wont end up buying another complete head unit just to jump the boost levels.
BTW Im not promoting that you get a D series. Thats way more than you need on your car. To big of a hassle for that little of boost.
