Well, minus the blower, I achieve it by driving 60 miles a day, five days a week on the highway at 75-85. I do very little city driving and I usually fill up around 320 miles with a gallon or more still in the tank.

Its kind of hard to know just how far past E you can go without running
out of gas. Miles per tank is really inaccurate, call me crazy but I always
go with the miles per gallon calculation......

Well I guess a fair assesment on miles per tank is to understand how empty one runs their tank. I'm filling up around 190-200 miles per tank, but I've never run the tank to the low fuel light to light up. I'm usually filling anywhere between 11-12 gallons to fill up, so that's roughly 16-17 mpg.

I believe our tanks are 15 gallons, correct? So I guess I could achieve 250 miles to a tank running it completely dry. But driving a blown car on an empty tank is a no-no because of the risk of picking up sediment in the tank, or even the risk of running out of gas on a WOT run.

OK so iam going to tell everyone this because it seems like some (not all) people dont know how to do math, so i will break it down for you... this is how i see gas prices..

IN the Seattle area
87----$2.75
89----$2.86
92----$2.92

Now, we all have around 15 gallon gas tanks so we will base it off that.

15x 2.75= $41.25 for a tank of 87..

15x 2.92= $43.80 for a tank of 92..

SO when people complain about how much 92 is over 87 it is so dumb to me when you cant pay an extra $2.55 more for a WHOLE TANK of gas and then complain some more about the price of gas???????

Sorry i had to get that out, and iam not trying to be a know it all or a Doushbag or anything.. just trying to open peoples eyes...

Stock 2v's are tuned for 87 octane. There is more power to have at lower octanes

No reason to step up unless you have a power adder, bumped compression or changing the fuel/timing curves via a tune.

Octane doesn't make power in itself.

Nope, 87 all the way to 2004. Don't know what the 2005+ GT's take.

I've gotten 325 miles per tank, but that was mostly highway driving with some stop and go traffic and the a/c on occasionally. Most of the time i was in 4th or 5th gear. That was on 87 octane

I have a managed a very important mode that most look over. Mikronite my friends on the gear and pinion.

I have my car up on the rack right now tearing into the rear end and rebuilding it. Going to a moser 31 spline. Once the guy at ford opened the diff cover he was shocked when he saw my gear and pinion. I just took pictures of it yesterday, it now has 18K mile on it and no wear pattern what so ever.

With the mikronite finish I have reduced the friction and heat that builds up. Heat means worst gas mileage.

Amen brother...I hate when people do that..they dont really realize how little of a differance it makes..hell..those hybrid cars are pointless too..ive read articles about how it would take like 20 years of buying gas just to make it worth buying a hybrid car over the non hybrid model.

when i had the stock 87 tune i swear if i put 93 in id get noticeably better fuel economy. like it burned slower.

I consistently get 240-250 in the with 80% city driving and have got as high as 380 on a all highway trip going about 75-80 with a fully loaded car (four people, trunk fully loaded with luggage) This translates to about 18-20 mpg in the city and 25-26 on highway and this is using 93 octane from shell

Just filled up and I am currently getting 19.82 MPG and I always bring the car to a hundred or more and light the tires a couple times, so I guess I am doing pretty good. If I stay out of it like when I drove it home from Houston the car did 24 mpg the whole way with the cruise set @ 90mph.

All you would have to do is take your MPG calculation and then multiply that by how many gallons your tank holds. Would give you a good estimation as to what your total miles on a tank would be.

Or am I
