My recently acquired 67 occasionally smokes out of the left rear tail pipe. When I bought the car the owner at the time said the previous owner had the block bored .060 over and installed port matched heads. He went on to explain that this gentleman had an oil burning problem and changed the valve seals. I'm thinking one or more of them is sticking or leaking. Any other ideas as to the cause? I've also found no thermostat installed and although he did put kelsey-hayes discs on the front there was no proportioning valve installed! This thing is turning into a money pit.
I've been reticent to bad mouth this guy because he built the car with his son before his son was killed in Iraq. I'm afraid to dig any deeper.

IMHO That is why you need to dig deeper before you buy it.
