Felt a weird vibration in my right rear the last few days at highway speeds. I got home and checked the tire and this is what I found. Sucker is maybe 3/8" in diamter.

Not gonna even other to plug it. Putting a spare 17" wheel on and buying a new set of all 4 tires within the week. Nice timing since the tires were pretty much almost done anyway. I'll update when i pull that bad boy out

Ive had a nail stuck in mine for a long time.

Stupid little nail causes me to add air every other couple of days, lol.

Not going to bother pulling/patching either as my local carwash has free air and my Sumi's are damn near shot.

And go for the farewell burnout...:D

Actually, it is octagonal....like a screwdriver. Makes me wonder if someone tried to damage my tire and the handle broke off.

I'm curious to see what the other sode of it looks like.

YES ITS SAFE - AND TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES! After driving out to the RC flying field a few months back and then washing the car I noticed a gigantic screw in my back right tire. I figured it was an omen that I needed not just one new tire, but 4. I followed my instincts. Before that though, I modified my rear tires to be slicks via high RPM's and 0MPH. Hey, if you don't do a burnout and kill the rubber the guys at the shop will.

No they won't. After catching some tire guy doing a burnout with my NEW tires a few years back, I simply bring them the rims now.

I have a spare set of 17" mustangs wheels off my 5.0. I just swap those on and then bring them the loose wheels.

I wouldnt do a burnout personally. Heated tires get soft and that peg may fly out and beat the crap out of your rear bumper. Take it out and put a tire plug in, then do the burnout :nice:

And man those tires have plenty of life left....if you think thats close you should see how I run my tires. I retire mine after the tread goes smooth :) (not all the way accross but generally after nearly half the tread is smooth)

You should see the front tires...they are past the wear bars and the edges are pretty much flat.

I just don't like mismatched rubber..so i'm doing all 4.

I also bought two new OEM bullitt wheels to replace my two pass side wheels that have minor curbing.

I am that anal

I curbed 1 Bullitt hard a couple of months ago.

I was so pissed. I bought new wheels for my Jeep, and to this day they have ZERO curb issues, and zero mis-haps despite being pounded offroad.

I was pissed. I wasnt paying attention the way I should have been and cut the wheel a little too sharp trying to snug up to a curb. I think I will be able to sand it out though if I take my time.

They were cheap enough. Ford is closing out on them, so i got them for $100 each. They only have the 03/04 bullitt with the darker spokes however.

I already had two spare bullitt wheels from a friend, so now this will give me 4 spare wheels to mount some autocross tires on :)

I 've ran over things like that before. There's a lot of construction work going on in the area where I work. I had to replace one tire because it couldn't be repaired. It sucks. I've also ran over stuff in my Mazda while driving where I work at. Pearl02.

UPDATE:

You know...i was kinda wondering where this bit went. It was missing from my kit. :nonono:

Oh well...new tires and new rims on pass side to replace curbed wheels (I HATE curbed wheels)
