That's why I "have a guy" for that. Tuning is not my thing, I don't have the patience for things I don't enjoy. Other than that, the car starts and runs fine. The idle needs tuning. Which brings me to my beef with megasquirt, or better yet tunerstudio. When you have a car that runs fine for a few years and doesnt need any tweaking, you forget what you knew in tunerstudio. I've always been shaky with it but dammit here we are again having to watch hours of YT to re-educate myself...
If you unplug the IAC, the idle falls to 650-700. So there's definitely not a vacuum leak, its the idiot behind the keyboard not making the right commands.
I looked into a set last night, they're $64. Probably money well spent.Just a suggestion so take it with a grain of salt. I looked back on your pictures and noticed you are using bolts on the lower intake. Use studs instead and you will get a better torqued and it helps line gaskets up. Been running them for years and don’t have intake leak issues.
Im really hoping that's all it is. I dont see how the intake gaskets could have slid down.I use studs on everything as well it’s a pain in the ass to lift the intake when it needs to come off but the assembly experience is night and day
Also I usually retorque about 3-4 times in sequence before I even start it
Let it sit 15-20 min and it’ll be loose again and re tq
I was doing some long decels to try and seat the rings thinking thats what the smoke was coming from. I think I was actually sucking oil past the lower intake gaskets and it was getting up into the intake.Do you have oil in the upper plenum too?
I'm hoping its something simple and the intake wasnt milled to some weird angle.
I'm not even sure. About to use my lunch break to go start tearing it down. Will report back.Who would do that?
