Progress Thread Hoopty v2.0 - It All Snowballed

Pretty easy, only one casualty.

Fuel system parts have been ordered, only $300 worth of stuff so thats cool. I had a spare 255lph pump from the fox I dropped in the tank.
The harness is about done and he said I should have it next week, so I'm really close to firing it up
Driveshafts were dropped off yesterday

Here's where it sucks. All coyote cars and trucks have an electric steering rack. So, for power steering you have 3 options that I've found:
- Volvo electric pump
- pro: cheapest option
- con: not good for offroad vehicles with large tires, not great with rapid inputs
- KRC system - ~$800
- Bolts to head, uses GM type 2 pump and adds a pulley to the water pump pulley do drive pump
- PBH Performance - $1300
- uses a mustang timing cover - truck no worky
- relocates alternator
- Uses mod motor or type 2 pump
- most expensive option
- benefit is it can be reconfigured to utilize a blower later on (or initially)

The more reading Ive done, the less I want the Volvo pump. So I am looking at the KRC. Just dont have the $800 handy quite yet.

The good news is the factor shifter and cable in the bronco are going to work beautifully on the 6R80. Going to fab a bracket tonight.

Still needed:
Exhaust - going to use as much of the factory pipe as I can
Cooling - I have no idea whats going on there yet, the hoses make no sense.
Misc wiring - wont know until harness comes in next week.

Maybe if you'd quit running off all your cutting board business and just discount to whatever price those guys feel like, you'd be so busy making boards you wouldn't even have time to worry about not having the money for this PS setup. :rlaugh:

Man this is the first batch that hasn't sold in like 5 minutes. tempted to give etsy a shot. But I've got like 8 of these things left and I REALLY need them gone to finish buying parts.

A tally of costs, so far. I really think you could whittle it down to $5k by re-using the old exhaust with the cats so no tune is needed. The power steering is the last remaining puzzle that I need to figure out. I dont have $800 to spend currently and its really bothering me that its such a cost.

I have chewed on the idea of making my own PS system but not ready to jump off that bridge yet.

I don't know what you're looking for mufflers or what mufflers you're looking for but if you've got any Gen 2 CTSVs floating around your salvage yard, measure the mufflers and see if they will fit.

They're fairly quiet, deep rumble at idle, and will support 1200+ HP before a cut-out is any benefit.

I'm going the cheap route for now to get it going. Stainless straight through mufflers on amazon are $50. Debating using the F150 and bronco stuff and not buying anything at all.
