Hopefully this spring/summer i will finally make it to the track for my first time ever! I don't really know what to expect (atmosphere and how fast my car will run)

what i know:
302 4v (out of a 68 i think?)
holley 600 cfm 4bbl carb
petronix ignition
long tube headers, dual exhaust flowmaster 40's (stops before rear axle)
1 inch carb spacer
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
C4 tranny (PO said it was "slightly built" automatic/manual valve bodies, and a B&M QuickSilver shifter (is that a shift kit?)
Traction bars (no idea what kind or anything)
Shackles (dont know if those would help in this case? (were on car when bought)
Street tires (sigh) p255 60r 15's on the back and p235 60r 15's on the front (BF Goodrich Radial TA's)
9 inch rear
K&N airfilter
What i dont know:
Rear gear ratio, (think they are farily low)
what the cam is (PO said it wasn't stock) its nothing drastic though, no big lopey idle..
don't know if it has been bored or anything else..

So, what should i expect when i take it to the track? (good 1/4 mile time i should shoot for/expect, how well will/should my car handle?
Thanks.

depending on your rear gear ratio, you should expect anywhere from high 14's to low 15's I think, assuming you get pretty good traction on your street tires. If your traction sucks, don't be surprised if you run high 15's.

A couple of tips I can give you are to practice holding your brakes and giving it some gas to give the car a few rpms on initial launch. I assume you have a stock torque converter? If so, you should be able to hold your brakes and rev the engine to a little over 1000 rpm. Do that at the light and let go of the brake when it goes green and ease into the gas more. Don't be overzealous and stab the throttle right off the line because you will probably burn out too much. You want to accelerate to the point where your tires almost want to break loose but don't. A little wheel spin is fine, but not much. I hope you have posi, cause it makes it easier.

thanks! thats what i thought on the time..although i was living in dream land hoping someone would say "ohh about 12 seconds flat but who am i kidding! =) and yes i have posi, i will have to practice launching in a suitable location before i go to the track..
