I want an AOD in my vert but I don't have the knowledge or the time to learn how to do this swap unless someone in Northern Va wants to take me under their wing. I just wondered if I had all the parts including the transmission (like correct linkage, crossmember, etc from Windsor Fox etc) how long do you think it should take someone to do the swap ? Just trying to gauge how much it might cost me for labor.

I live in northern Virginia also..Lake Ridge here.
I’m not sure how long it took when I had my 65 coupe done.
I pulled the Trans from the junkyard.
I bought the Trans cross member on e-bay.
The rest came from summit.
They rebuilt the Trans with a shift kit and installed for about $1500.00.

They did a great job.

Brisco Trans in Belmont I think is the name.
I’m at work and don’t have the info at hand but I will look it up if you want.

I thought this was a big job for my driveway.
I had to switch to a shorty header also.

Definitely look it up for me. What did the tranmission cost you ? I figure I will buy everything I need from Windsor Fox unless somebody can give me a good reason to go someplace else.

I’m cheep… I know people at the junkyards and give them my old cars so I don’t pay for much. I brought the Trans to them and let them rebuild it when ever they had free time.
Had the guy wait till a slow time in the shop to do the stang. I let him know time was not a factor but price and quality is.

I hate to take my car to a shop!!! So the hardest part for me is to find someone good and will let ME in the shop while the work is being done.

Windsor Fox was having problems when I was doing my swap; I thought they went out of business.

I did have some problems; the flywheel I got did not leave the tork converter in the proper depth. The guys at the shop gave me an old one that is working fine.

From yahoo…

I will check to see if they went out of business. I appreciate the heads up on that shop. That's great because they aren't that far from me. I am in Manassas. Hopefully the people that did yours are still there since they have that experience. How many days did it take for them to do it..."during the down times"

Briscoe Transmission is a well known company and it’s hard to determine when their down time is, BUT if you had everything and deep pockets, I would say 2 days to get your car back.

Remember I’m cheap and had plenty of time on my side.

I’m not related or associated to this company…they did great work when I had my coupe done 2 years ago. Just call them, I bugged the crap out of them . Ask for Dana, he’s the man!

Location

If you take 28 out of old town towards Bristow....before you get to Bristow you will pass a Burger King and a McDonald's on the left. It's in there and if it's nice weather, it's a fun place to hang out. Great cars come by.

Ok I was thinking about the wrong one.
I think I found the one you are talking about.

Is this it?

I’m going to try to get up there this Saturday.
I guess I will have to at least wash the outside of my car .
It is a daily driver Woodbridge to Crystal City / D.C. everyday .

I wouldn't recomend Windsor Fox for anything but trouble! They have had my wiring harness since Sept of last year. Still dont have it back... I have about 70 emails of excuses and promises. anyone know if you can go to small claims from out of state?
