How are you guys financing your Superchargers?

Was just curious if you all had 4k in cash lying around or are charging it on your credit card or a lot of you are going into debt and getting a loan for that amount specifically for the blower? I want one so bad, but dunno if its worth going into debt over...

I highly suggest just saving and paying cash for all parts.
I use my OT money to finace the car parts and nitrous fills.
I know some that work 2nd jobs in the winter to save and buy parts.
I also know some college age people that take out student loans to build their car. At first seems stupid but the tax writeoff may not be so bad.

Took me two years to save up enough cash on the side to finally do what I just did.

Straight up cash. Not to say I'm not in a bit of debt with my Credit cards, but nothing a month or two won't be able to fix.

I suck at saving money... There's always something to buy Just dropped 270 on HID's... Want to drop some cash on plenum/TB (in preperation of the blower).. I want longtubes... A new computer.... So many wants so little money..

I saved until I had nearly all of it, then I charged it to my card and payed it off within the month. That way, I got to collect Visa points later on down the road which allowed me to purchased a 50" big screen yesterday.

Thats probably the way i'll do it. save up about 3/4 of the cost and charge it then pay it off the next month leaving a little left over.

If you are bad at saving money, set up an automatic transfer or payroll deduction to a savings account to happen right on payday.

C.C.. You dont want to pay cash on a high ticket item like that. You at least want some protection incase the transaction goes awry.
-But you do want to have the cash saved up so you can pay off that debt

well.. I dont have a s/c and have no plans for one anywhere in my near future... but I have spent quite a bit of money on car parts. Usually what I do is pay for half in cash and use a credit card for the rest. That way I'm not completely broke and it helps build my credit

Saved the cash - then bought it on credit and paid it off that month...like everyone's been saying, do it that way and youre covered if the transaction goes bad and also build credit w/o paying much interest...

But I guess the hard part is saving the cash tho eh??

i say save it. But then I suck at saving too. I did saved some money in the past year or so. Infact, I'm looking at my account, and i have enough to get mangoose kit right now.

But i haven't paid my tuition yet....

I FINANCED MINE. ALL $4200 OF IT. i got flamed for doing it that way but it is the way i wanted tyo do it. if you wanna finance a s/c i say do it as long as you can afford the payments and still have some left over for other mods!

Get yourself over extended so that when you need money for medical or other types of emergencies you're screwed.

I do not think you have thought your brilliant plan all the way through my friend.

Only way I would agree that this is a good idea is if your car is paid off and you are largely debt free.

Well, I bought a new car, bought the supercharger and went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas... so I did get a loan for some of all the expenses during that time. I went through CitiBank. I'll have it paid off by next summer and all my debt back down. Lifes too short to wait. I'm a "do it now before you die" kind of guy...

When I got my cams, valvesprings, x-pipe and headers I had 90% of the cash up front and I knew I was about to receive the rest.. so I put it in a checking/debit account at my bank and used that card til it was gone, then put the rest on the credit card.. then paid that off

I have still been thinking about putting some more on the credit card, but not much.. never know when i'll have a medical emergency since I seem to be a walking hazard
