I just recently bought an 83 GT with an SROD. I found a used Tremec 3550 that will be going in there, but I have a concern. I got the car cheap because the clutch pedal was broken.
I've replaced the pedals, but it's obvious that the pedal effort must have been extremely high. Why the guy kept driving it I have no idea, but the clutch pedal actually bent. It didn't just round off the square edges on the pedal pivot.
So in my mind it's possible that the clutch fork may be damaged as well. I'm going to make sure the cable is ok before I replace everything, but I need to figure out a way to check the fork. I'd hate to get the whole thing back together and then find out that the fork is bent and my pedal effort is still too high.
Does anyone have a picture of the SROD fork? Or does anyone have advice on how I can check to make sure the fork is ok before I put it all back together?
Thanks!
