How do I remove the rear window in a 68?

My friend and I are standing here trying to remove the rear window in my 1968 mustang. I took all the pieces off the outside of the window but now I am stumped. Do I just puch the window out from the inside? Or remove this nasty rotten gasket around the window.

the gasket needs to come out with it at the same time. just push in the corners first till u get it started then the rest is cake. just becareful not to brake the window thats a mess.

The easiest way to do it is to get a razor knife and cut the gasket around the perimeter on ther outside of the window .The window will just come right out. Then just clean off the remaining gasket and junk.

I agree with the last post. Use a razor because its cheaper to buy a replacement gasket than a rear NOS or original "Carlite" glass window. The gasket will need to be replaced anyways if it is original.

The gasket needs to be replaced, regardless of what it is... Use the razor knife and trim the seal until you see the outer edge of the glass, all the way around, then just carefully lift it out.
