I have been gathering information about adding one for a while. Searched a few times. I still have the same questions. Which one do I pick? Kenne Bell, Whipple, Procharger... I am confused. Roots type, centrifigal? 6,7,8,9 PSI boost? How much does it cost? 3-5K? I assume I will be replacing injectors, MAF, etc and adding gauges. My car will never see the strip and is my daily driver. I assume I want one that doesnt kick in instantly if I do city driving.Cant afford the insurance on a 03-04 cobra right now( even though I am an insurance agent) so this will have to do. If you could give insight, a link, or explanation it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's not that I wont take my car to the track, just that I wont be building it for the track. And not jsut for highway passes, but to have it when I need to put my foot through the headlight. Kenne Bell, how much does the boost PSI(6-9) effect the horsepower increase? Around 350-370?

I myself have a Vortech and I'm running 9lbs of boost. I will soon be running 12 to 15 lbs of boost. I love my blower but if I was to do it all over again, I would go with a twin screw like the Kenne Bell. Whatever you decide, you will never run N/A again. :nice:

I have been looking into this as well.... The Kenne Bell 6psi kit comes with the injectors, intake, chip ect. Kenne Bell says that the stock exhaust is perfect and you only lose 10hp with the stock cats. No gain with headers or very little if any and only at high RPM. They do say a catback will help. The stock intake is at its limit at 400hp. But if you go with the 6psi kit you will be fine as it will be at the wheels 340-360?
The KB 6psi non intercooled kit is $3800 smackers and thats the bottom dollar. The intercooled 9psi kit is another $1200 (well worth it if your car is going to become a huffer junky) im going to start with the 6psi and save for the cooler.

I just put on a 6psi and then put on a 7psi pulley and I have an 01GT w/ the higher compression heads. If I were to do it again I would go straight to the 9psi inter-cooled right away. I know it is extra money but the power is addicting and you more, more, more. W/ the 6psi kit you should see around 330-340 rwhp and the 7psi should get you to 350rwhp. You need to figure out what you goal is and then go from there. I paid $4100, for guages, kit, and shipping. They can sway the pulley out for you if you ask, should be no charge if they keep the 6psi pulley. The install is long but easy. PM me if you have any question on install or anything like that. Good luck.

I saw someone mentioned the 9# kit for 5k shipped? The price on their site (w/ the addons) is upwards of 6,7k isnt it? Regardless... where is the absolute cheapest... or inexpensive I should say... place to get the KB 9# 1.7? I don't even know where to start looking, and I wanna be boosted by Summer '05.

Thanks

It doesn't matter where you get the KB, it will be the same price, so just go by there website for pricing.

By the way, I noticed that you have black FR500's. I have thinking about getting the black ones or the chrome ones. Do you have any pics, and what size tires are you running.

Thanks

See my garage I have pics in there of the FR500's on my car.

Kenne Bell is my vote as well. that's where i will be headed as well 9# that is. if you go with a centrifigul you won't have as much power down low and you would want to uprgrade your intake so you don't blow the plastic.
