How do you all fight the temptation?

Forgot to mention. When we trade in the wife's car in '10 or '11 she is getting a mustang GT auto. Wifes' exact words..."why would I get a v6...if I am paying I want the v8" lucky me. So we will probably have a new one to sit next to the 94 in the garage in a few years.

I am getting rid of my DD before we get rid of her car and getting a fusion so we will have a 4 door sedan so we can still have a baby-friendly car and she can have a mustang she has always wanted.

fusion = ftw

I have been looking at them for about 2yrs now. I have looked at other cars like the mazda3, HHR, focus, used F250-350 manual diesel crew cab (01-03 7.3or 06 6.0) and keep coming back to it. I just want to pay off a tad bit more/remainder of my loan on my currant DD. I can get into a SE 4cyl. manual with sync for around 13-14k if I wait 9 more months. That will be like a $220-250 a month payment (going 5yrs).

The only complaint I have from the test drive of the fusion is the sloppy feeling shifter and there is an aftermarket shifter for the mazda6 that makes it more solid/shorter. That and a K&N drop in will be all I do while I drive it for 150-200k miles and 10yrs.

my 82yr old grandma just bought a new 08 Sable. Other than me not thinking she needs a new car...she is freaking 82 and not going to be driving much. That car is DAMN nice compared to her 01 sable tons more room better build.

Gotta love X-plan, rebates, trade-in, and smallish down payment.

I didnt know there were other cars besides 5L mustangs:rlaugh:

If I buy something newer I will have to start modding all over again because there is no car out that would suite my personal taste and needs in stock form.

I do however have plans for a new project next year, if all goes well in finishing up my current 95 this winter and it aint going to be a mustang.

What?? So since you've had a license, you've gone through a car per month?

I've had the stang for 9 years at this point. But all I drive now is the Bronco since the stang has been down. I plan to keep the stang until 200 or 300k miles at least so I will have have it for another 20 years once I get it running again. Unless I get some mad cash and replace it with a brand new better car.

actually i'm counting the cars prior to my liscense. I started working on cars seriously when I was 10. I had a 67 fairlane.

keep it. I modded mine untill i finally got it where I want.

I agree that I always hear stories from guys saying they wish they diden't sell there car when they were young......

so...dont make that mistake....I wont!

plus, you cant deny that its a fun car to drive. To cure yourself, drive another boring car for a week or so, then you will realize what you would be missing.

That's the problem. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I'm sure once I get back from from God forsaken Korea, I will get to drive the newly tuned 450+rwhp beast and change my mind. Last time I drove it, it was stock except for the wheels/vortech and full exhaust. Now its got the full suspension, corbeaus/weight reduction, and soon to hopefully be a beast of a motor.

Yeah dude, youre out of your mind if you sell that thing when you havent even been able to drive it since dropping in a bunch of mods. Not only that, but my dad would be pissed if he did all my installing and then I sold the car before I even drove it!
