So it's been about 2,000 miles I definately never got on the new tranny clutch setup for the first 1,500 and I found it funny I couldn't rev the cobra out in 2nd and nail 3rd beyond 6,000 rpms. I bet my buddy with a supercharged cobra that he couldn't hit 3rd and sure enough he couldn't...
I got it installed like 3 months ago tops and my buddy drove it again this weekend and confirmed that unless you granny shift it into 3rd at higher rpms it's not going to go. I called the shop who did the install and he said call the guy who supplied the whole setup for the install who is VERY reputable on supplying this stuff to a lot of you I am sure and has a fix for basically the manufactured flaw by some of these Tremecs. He's known to have a fix for the problem and I am bothered that I spend like $3,300 for the parts alone spending 45 mins working out the details and he doesn't mention the flaw and his apparent fix that can avoid the "defective" products. The stang shop that installed it quickly came clean to say they've had a few mustangs in lately with the SAME problem and his fix that's done later has solved them and to contact the "reputable" supplier of my tranny setup and see what he says.
I researched this flaw and it's been happening since 2005 and my supplier has clearly had a fix acknowledged from this research in 05 and I am just pissed that this was never brought up as a potential solution or problem to avoid my current situation. As it stands even if I played "their game" I would potentially be hit for another $600-$700 for the "Ultimate (brand new) high performance transmission"...How do I approach the supplier...I am stuck but I don't want to be rude about my concern that it's not my fault that the install shop pretty much said those transmission tend to be flawed - which again was never brought to my knowledge by this "reputable, authorized dealer, who has knowingly had an easy fix for years".
Please advice if you can! Thanks
