I don't like the 'what would I run' threads. Sure, maybe in perfect conditions, with excellent driving, you could run a high 12, but what about the real world, with yourself behind the wheel? It takes a LOT of practice and experience to wring the most from a car, and even on the street you can't get that kind of experience. Everytime I go to the track, I see people with nice combinations running terrible times. Blown mustangs running 14s, GT500s running mid-low 13s ect ect. It just depends so much on your driving ability and the traction of the car.
So sure, tell your buddies your car can run high 12s, but when you get spanked by mid 13s car just because they can drive well, don't cry about it. Go to the track and find out for REAL what your car runs. You'll have a blast. And if you go and only run a 14-something, that's fine too. My first pass at the track was a mid/high 19 @ 65mph, in an 88 hp 4cyl mustang.
