OK, i have been talking with Lenny (ljinx23) about his car problems. Now, he just fired up the car and it has afr 165 heads, e303 cam, TFS intake (not sure which one), 24# injectors and a cobra comptuer.
i know that some guys with 94/95 GTs convert the computers to a9l computers becasue they seem to work better with them.... most with some decent cams.
How good is the cobra computer?
I dont think its the problem, but i am just trying to trouble shoot a bit and see if i can help him get this thing a bit faster. He says that its slower than the LT1 cars. :(

It is as good or better than the fox pcm's.

It is not as forgiving as the older fox pcm's with mods such as larger inj, mafs, cams and such.

Going with the older pcm in the newer car is an option that is no longer as good as it used to be cause nowadays you can just chip the original pcm or self tune it for the same or less money than the older retrofit pcm thing.

Don't forget that after you do what you gotta do to get the older pcm in the newer Stang ..............................

You STILL got a STOCK pcm that was NOT designed for the car.

I don't think it is a good idea but thats just my .02 as they say.

My car has had a cobra computer since I purchased her in 94. I began adding mods in 97 after the warranty was over and have not run into any drivability or idle issues with TFS heads and intake, an E-303 cam, and 30lb injectors. I have used the combo without and with a superchip. Hope this helps at least by comparison. :nice: :flag:
