How hard is it to remove 1/4 window moldings?

the 90 has some rough window moldings and I was going to paint them before the car show Saturday. Tips on removing / sanding / painting? Thanks.

you need to take the interior pannels out and remove the windows since they are part of the mouldings....I think there is 7 nuts to take off on each window. than when all the nuts are out carefully pull the windows out slowley. The tape they used from factory might be able to reseal again but i would reccomend getting some new butel (spelling) tape to do it right.

I just did mine and found it easier to just remove them from the car. Just to clarify, there's a total of NINE (9) nuts for each quarter window on a hatchback (Not sure of the # for notchbacks). I sanded them down with a 400 grit paper, then a 600 grit for fine finishing (this depends on how badly pitted they are. You may have to use a spray on filler product also known as "feather fill" to fill in all the deeper pits). I used a high build primer, about 3 coats, then sanded with a light grit again. I then sprayed a coat of Bull Dog Adhesion Promoter to make the new paint stick real nice. To finish, I applied about 3 coats of SEM Landau Black. Looks good as new.

the guy who painted my car painted the molding and now it looks horrible! just the rubber or whatever is the best thing in my opinion....

I removed the windows also... I used lots of flexible build primer to fill in the pitts, then painted with semi-gloss bumper cover which turned out freaking great!

step 2. throw hammer through window.

step 3. clean up the mess, and wish you wouldnt have done that lol.
