you have to get that plaque off to get to the middle bolts right:shrug: lol all i've torn off is the gt-40 on my 93 (the others are too far back to remember), but anyways the guy who put them on last (lol maybe even ford) tightened the crap out of them and now 2 are stripped to where the phillips head wont work anymore, the other two are out, but thats it... lol i took my car for a spin after the mgw install and noticed the valve-covers were leaking on the headers and burning (i also haven't drivin it for like a month or two so it could have been the oil that has leaked out over time. either way, the gaskets need changed) so yeah, any insight on this would help...

just find a drill bit the same diameter/circumference as the other bolts, then drill out the center of the bolts and the head of it should break off. Ever heard of an easy out? Good time to look into em...

E-Z outs are the work of satan. By far the worst tool ever. They only work when you break something soft like brass, but as soon as you break off a bolt in something and decide the E-Z out is the way to go, you'll be back at the hard ware store buying die grinder bits to grind out that hardened steel E-Z out that just broke off in the bolt. Ask me how I know this lol.

I've always used one of these.

Works 100% of the time.

Now that you've got the screw head boogered up, you're going to have to reslot it somehow.

--or--

You can also get bits that work kind of like easy outs but are (instead of reverse threaded drill bit looking things) shaped like a triangle or pyramid. You can put these bits on an impact driver and they will bite into the existing screw head and find their own foot hold as you beat on teh impact driver with your hammer.

Here's another type of screw remover I've had some success with in the impact driver. These seem to be much easier to find in open market.

I can't tell you where you might find the pyramid shaped ones... the small set that I have I got from a machinist.

hehe... no... at least I don't think so. Just had them for a very long time and haven't seen them for sale at tool stores or anything. You might be able to find a set in a machinist's catalog or something. Wish I could be more help with that but I don't even know what they're actually called. I always refer to them as my "easy outs" but saying that would give the wrong impression all together.

Haha, this reminds me of my dad. Every time I ask him for some help on the car, no matter what it is, he tells me to use WD-40 and vise grips.
Thats actually who told me how to do it when it happened on my first stang.. Im like dad what should i use? He goes get a drill and some vise grips..

They should change the name of E-Z outs to Not So E-Z outs.

If a bolt is seized enough in place and breaks when you try and remove it,an E-Z out will most likely break as well.
