How long should it take to get my '07 GT? I think I'm getting screwed.

351CJ - Do I have any recourse other than waiting?

Other than waiting, about the only thing you can do is find another dealer who has a larger allocation or hasn't used their allocation for GT appearance package options.

It all sounds like Ford has under estimated the number of customers who want the GT Appearance Package, just like when the 05s came out Ford underestimated how many customers would want to order the IUP (My Color).

Can someone run down everything we are supposed to be getting/looking for from the dealer after we order the car. I tried to find the link on that information, but my hard drive crashed so I lost it. It was on a F150 websight and it ran through everything very detailed. Any information would be helpful though.

not sure what a DORA is...

I forget exactly what the letters stand for, something like "Dealer ORder Acknowledgement".

In any case a DORA is confirmation that the order has been placed by the dealer with Ford. You would be wise to ask your dealer for your DORA as having one will both confirm that your order has been placed and that it has been placed correctly (the model, options & colors you want).

I ordered my GT with the 56c and 18c packages about two weeks ago. We settled on a price, ordered the car, got a build conformation from Ford and a vin the next day. It is supposed to be here the last week in July or the first week in August. I thinks it all has to do with the sales person.

Mine's still not serialzed as of june 22nd. Still unscheduled. I hope this doesn't indicate I will be waiting a long time due to dealer allocation or something. I guess that is only 17 days from when I ordered it. I didn't have any options that will hold it up as far as I know.

What can you do when you get the vin, can you track the car somehow. cuz that would be cool to see what stage on the line your car is in or atleast know when its finished and ready to ship so you dont have to reliy on the dealer to tell you.

I ordered my 07 GT on 4/5/06. I have a VIN number and was told it should arrive next week +- a week. So I am cleaning out the garage this week in hopes of my new baby.

What options did everyone need that required them to special order the car? I can understand if you have specific wants/needs, but how many ordered one just for the hell of it?

07 GT's are on the lots here in Florida allready according to their online inventory.

This dealer has a grabber orange gt and the one in Ocala has one with the california special package(which I wouldn't personally give a nickle extra for:notnice: )

I just special ordered it so that it had exactly what I wanted on it, no more and no less. Not too mention when I first got set on the idea I could pick the dealership that would give me the best deal to get the car from instead of pick the one that had my car. So far I haven't seen any '07 Alloy metallic, premium GT's, in manual, with 18" bullitts, sirius radio, 3.55's, charcoal interior, satin IUP, active anti-theft, and no other options I would have to pay for and didn't want like lojack or something. I didn't get X-plan, but 500 over invoice isn't a killing I don't think. Not to mention I won't pay tax as active duty in this specific case.
Of course I haven't seen any Alloy's except a GT-500 so I might be waiting a bit anyways lol.

That makes sense about buying the car you want from the dealer you want. I guess i'm just not that picking. I want a white or vista blur 5sp manual gt, i'd rather do the rest myself.

Here's an alloy one listed at Garber Ford in Greencove springs Florida. Doesn't show a picture for some reason, sorry it's an auto.

I ordered mine because that was what my dealer recommended. I was looking for a '06GT with manual tranny in late April, but there weren't many in my area. So the dealer said it may be easier to order as production was only about 6 weeks away. I wasn't in any hurry so I did. This gave me time to sell the car I was driving.

I just got my '07 GT with manual trans yesterday (a 2 month wait). I really like the car. The only option I got was the spoiler delete. I got the A-plan with no options and saved quite a bit of money - my final price was $23,500. So I got only what I wanted - nothing more - saved a little money and had time to sell my old car. This has been the easiest car buying experience I've ever had.

Besides, it's been a real kick to get the car with only 3.3 miles on the odometer and have my name on the window sticker.
