how many qts of oil fill your v8??

i used 6 quarts of mobil 1, and the dipstick is still reading on the slightly MIN mark. i added half a quart more, and its still a bit shy...how many qts do you guys use?

6 1/4 takes mine to middle of operating range with PH-2 or equivalent filter. Did it yesterday

Just put in 6 quarts and etch a mark on the dipstick at the level it shows. This will be your new "Full" mark on the dipstick. No need to put anymore in than that. I put in 6 quarts and it reads right at the mid level mark. That's my "Full" mark level. My Mach uses very, very little oil so it's not like my dipstick is'nt going to show a oil level mark on it when it does use it.

i know advanced auto parts does, and Im guessing vatozone and O'Reilly's would carry it as well. Hell, wal-mart does.

I put five quarts in mine evry time and it is never low. Even says 5 quarts in my owners manual.

Yes, my oil cap says 5w-20 also... That is the correct weight

It is due to the super high tolerances in our engines so that the oil can flow properly.
