how much hp does it take to go 121 mph in a 3000lb mustang??? And what would be the difference in flywheel hp compared to RWHP, and how is it figured?
Jack
I came up with 407 hp....but I was quickly told I had no clue what hp it took to run that speed! driveline loss is between 10-15% depending on factors (type of car, type of driveline etc. I.E. if its race driveline it should loose 10% rather than 15%).
anywhich way you do it 410 or 407 hp minus the driveline numbers comes up to be around 355-360RWHP....would you agree? thats using 12 percent driveline loss.
Thats a hel ova lot of hp from a stock 4V cobra with stock unported heads, stock cams....and full exhaust thru shortie headers ....wouldn't ya think?
Im assuming your talkin bout a supercharged cobra, and no thats not uncommon at all. Thoe motors are underrated at 390 hp and they have very efficient drivetrains...compared to a 5.0. I've seen 03's throw down 360rwhp with just a catback. very impressive numbers in stock form.
NO.........I am talking about Naturally aspirated Cobra!!! So is that a lot of NA horsepower for a stock cammed, stock unported intake, stocked unported headed cobra

well I didn't mention, this particular combo isn't totally stock! It prolly has lightweight internals in the bottem end, shaved heads, good valve job and no telling what kinda light components internally in engine, trans, and rear end. but still....thats hauling tail!
