How much should i charge this guy i just meant, real cool kid im 20 and he is prolly about 27 or 28. neway how much should i charge him to remove and install a engine. i already started today, got the engine out, its a carbed 302 in a 85 mustang, with a t5. i got to put another engine back in and get it tuned, well running, not like dyno tuned. u know what i mean. he is making me payments of 150 a week, but im not sure for how long , he has no problem paying me as im helping him out alot, but i dont want to rip him off and i dont want to short myself, so what do u guys think, also how much should i charge him for a used catted x pipe with flowmaster catback and lx chrome tails, im selling it too him but i dont know how much too charge him. it looks like the x pipe was made at a muff shop, but its still pretty decent.

Id say $400-$500 for the engine swap: You arent certified (At least I dont know that you are) and there is no warranty.. but it is a lot of work. So I would believe that price to be fair.

Use exhaust isnt expensive in the first place so I would say $100 or less. Just keep every reasonable and fair and you should both get what u want.

I agree with him. Ive charged as little as $400 but I've done mustang engines so many times now that I just breeze through it now

yeah well the dealers and garages arund here charge 80 bucks an hour and haynes or chiltons, cant remember which one lists it as a 20 hour job because we have to switch heads and everydthing else. so thats 1600 dollars. so i think im saving him alot of dough. and the so called CERTIFIED garage that he took it to before to put the engine in trans had the bellhousing bolt finger tight about 3 of them, came out by hand. Now there is alot of rigged up s h i t that im fixing as well, like the brake line that goes from passenger side in the rear to drivers side, its just stretched across the cover of the rear really tight. also the driveshaft came out by hand all the bolts were about 1/8 inch from being put in all the way. NICE,there is just alot of effed up stuff that i have to route thru and fix, it was an ex 4 banger,i dont know if that matters but there is a wiring nightmare under the hood so were gonna clean that up a lil. and he knows me, knows where i live has my phone number so if he has problems with it down the road he knows where to get me.I just dont want to hear that ur not certified s h i t, i know u prolly didnt mean nething by it, but im just saying even mechanics at big garages and wherever still half ass chit, if u dont believe me look at this car, lol
