How strong is the F-150 4.6L?

Read this post and you'll see why I'm asking.

Smoked a ricer civic...

When I was driving it, I took it to 5k several times, I wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna break anything on it being as it's not my truck. Anybody have some info on it? Thanks

Dude the truck will hold up fine I race my friend in his 4.7 dodge ram (pos) and bust him everytime! I might pay for it 15 to 20 years down the road but thats to be expected.

The 4.6 is a good engine in the 4x2's, but it's not that great for 4x4's.
Also their $hitty for towing or hauling a lot of weight

Hey yall I'm new here but i had an 02 f-150 with the 5.4L and hung out at ford-trucks.com(a fourm like this) the 5.4's had more problems(my truck had none thankfully) i had the hypertech programer, 4.10's, intake, exhaust, and ele. fans on it. i saw 5800rpm and sometimes a trip to 6000 while this actually made it run a slower ET in the 1/4 it still sounded good on the street. but the 4.6 in the trucks have VERY few problems so i wouln't worry about it, oh yeah my 5.4 had 70,000miles on it too. But i like the mustang better(02 GT 5speed). full second faster and 20mpg, truck ran 15.6@86 and got 12mpg(after 4.10's)

I've owned 3 Ford trucks in the last 5 1/2 years (2 F-150 4x4's 00&03 and a F-250 4x4 01).
All of them with 5.4's, and none of them had a single problem with the engine .

The first truck I test drove in 2000 was a F-150 4x4 with a 4.6l and that was all I needed to convince me to get a 5.4l.

Not saying the 4.6l Triton is bad, but it doesn't belong in a full size truck!
The 4.6l would be a good engine for a Ranger.
