How to go 11s

OK, guys
Here is the deal guys

I would like to build a 2.3l turbo mustang i will be using a 87-93 car

Is 11s on pump gas possible?

how does this setup sound

HX35
some type of cam
ported head
ported intake
stinger manifold
3" turbo back exhaust
Megasquirt or a Chipped LMA3
not sure on injectors yet
some type of clutch
8.8 rear with 3.55 gears
t5 tranny
cam gear
FMIC

am i missing anything?

Its funny you just read back my combination to me. Honestly I will be shooting for low 11's on DOT tires and 93 octane. Its possible with a tailwind, seriously good luck, and a perfect run it might see a 10 sec run every now and then.

so your telling me 11s on pump gas is fairly easy?

if i can go 11s on street tires that will be even more fun

i am really looking to run in the NDRA and NHRA Sport COmpact Series in the street tire class

i can use a 235/60 bfgs

do you think i can do that?

so the hx35 turbo is the one to get?

not is fairly easy

11's on a radials the way I launch would be nearly impossible.

235/60 wouldn't be enough

I have run into minor complications with an older HX35.

ok i will go with a bigger turbo
maybe like a gt35r or something like that

when it comes to to choose the turbo

i am picking up my 91 hatchback this week

and my complete 2.3l turbo motor this weekend
then its time to pull the stock stuff out and get the turbo head ported and ready for a cam - not sure which one

and also get the intake ported or i may get a custom one made

Seems to me you should get the stock engine in and running first. No point in trying to make something faster that doesn't run right.

A bigger turbo probably isn't the answer either, its finding the one that will match your setup.
